Safety at RAVL

Safety is not a feature at RAVL.
It is a foundation.

RAVL exists to help business travellers connect with real people, in real places, in a way that feels natural, human, and genuinely valuable. Because those connections can move from online to in person, we take our responsibility seriously.

Everything about RAVL is designed to reduce risk, build trust, and create an environment where people feel comfortable showing up as themselves.

Every member is reviewed by a real person

Every new RAVL member is checked by a real human being before they are approved.

We do not rely on automated systems or AI alone to decide who can join the community. Each profile is reviewed to ensure the person is genuine, credible, and who they say they are.

This human review process is intentional. It adds friction by design, because safety matters more to us than rapid growth.

Events are private by default

RAVL events are never public drop-ins.

  • Event locations are only shared with people who hold a valid ticket
  • Information about who is attending is only visible to other ticket holders
  • Event details are not searchable or visible outside the RAVL platform

This protects the privacy of attendees and ensures that people know exactly who they are meeting and where, without broadcasting their movements or plans.

Messaging with context, not anonymity

RAVL allows members to message others they follow, even if that follow is not mutual. We are transparent about this.

At the same time, RAVL is not an anonymous or unmoderated messaging environment.

  • Profiles are tied to real, reviewed individuals
  • Messaging takes place within a professional community
  • Behaviour expectations apply to messages just as they do in person

If someone's behaviour crosses a line, there are consequences.

Clear standards of behaviour

RAVL is a professional, respectful community.

We expect members to treat each other with consideration, both online and at events. Harassment, pressure, inappropriate behaviour, or misuse of the platform is not tolerated.

This applies whether interactions happen:

  • In messages
  • At events
  • Before, during, or after meeting in person

RAVL is about connection, not exploitation. About conversation, not pressure. About shared experience, not personal agendas.

Reporting concerns and taking action

If something doesn't feel right, members can report it directly to RAVL.

Reports are:

  • Reviewed by a real person
  • Taken seriously
  • Acted on where appropriate

Actions may include warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform. We would rather protect the community than protect numbers.

You are never expected to "handle it yourself".

Privacy and discretion

We know that many RAVL members are travelling for work and value discretion.

  • Profiles are only visible to logged-in members
  • Event participation is not publicly indexed or advertised
  • Member data is never sold to third parties

RAVL is designed to be a trusted space, not a public directory.

Who RAVL is for — and who it isn't

RAVL is for people who value meaningful, respectful human connection while travelling for work.

It is not:

  • A dating app
  • A cold sales channel
  • A place for aggressive networking or pitching

If someone joins RAVL with the wrong intent, they won't last long.

Safety is ongoing, not static

No community gets safety "done".

As RAVL grows, we continuously review how the platform works, how people interact, and where improvements are needed. We listen to members and adapt accordingly.

Our commitment is simple:
If something undermines trust or safety, we address it.

Our promise

RAVL exists to make business travel feel more human, not more risky.

We will always prioritise:

  • Real people over anonymous accounts
  • Thoughtful growth over rapid scale
  • Trust over convenience

Because connection only works when people feel safe enough to show up.
